Fans of DivX encoded videos look out! This is a new program that
reads your videos (that you have of course encoded previously
with the excellent PocketDivXEncoder ;-)...).
I'll skip its audio capabilities, but know that it reads both MP3s
and Ogg Vorbis.

BetaPlayer may not be an inspiring name, and the version number
0.0x may make you fear the worst, but don't worry. The application is
already very well featured, and lives in the shadow of PocketMVP
the champion of all categories on this site.

In spite of all my research and my many attempts at testing the
menu options, I can assure you that the room for improvement
is very small; it contains practically everything that you might
want. Of course, you can always hope for improvements in
performance or in sound
quality, but that remains as final polish.

The interface is very simple, but since I use full screen mode all
the time, it doesn't really concern me. It has everything that you find
in a good player: full screen, contrast and luminosity control, image
rotation, fast forward, and even a number of parameters (buffer,
tolerance to drops) for a Microdrive type disc manager
(so as to not have the drive constantly spinning, to save batteries).

Coded by Picard, a celebrity in the world of DivX since he
programmed some modified DivX codecs. Without a doubt he
has created a valuable program. Note that BetaPlayer now supports
MPG and MJPEG since version 0.091.

The calculator program automatically adapts to single and multi color devices.
High resolution displays of SONY Clie devices and devices with
Palm Operating System 5 and higher are automatically detected and
supported.

Your Files

For any file in your handheld's internal memory or on an external card,
you can view and edit general information such as the file's name,
attributes (full), and dates. Any file can be copied, moved,
sent (via Bluetooth or Infrared), or deleted. Files in internal memory can
also be directly viewed and edited. You can also view information about
any folder, such as the total size, as well as warnings about potential
problems with the contents of the folder (illegal file names, etc.).
The file listing allows for extensive customization: sort and filter the list
in a variety of ways, and select what file information you want to see in the list.
With 320x480 resolution support, the file list uses the maximum screen
space available. You can also export the file list to the Memo Pad application.

Your Handheld

FileZ presents a wealth of information about your handheld's internals.
Three tabs of information give you details about your handheld's memory,
battery, and syncing. Memory info includes free/available/total amounts,
filesystem info, and more. Battery info includes current/warning/critical values,
battery type, and more. Sync info includes some details about your
handheld's identity and sync history. An included preference manager within
FileZ allows you to view, export, and delete the preferences for any application
on your handheld (both saved and unsaved).
